The Catholic Community in Columbus, Ohio: Social Justice and Outreach

The parish of Francis of Assisi is devoted to living out the teachings of social justice in our faith. To further this mission, the Office of Social Affairs of the Diocese of Columbus provides additional resources. At Saint Mark's, we are determined to be responsible stewards of the resources given to us and use them to support our local community, the Diocese of Southern Ohio, and international mission fields. For more than 77 years, Catholic Social Services (CSS) has been providing people in need with the tools they need to reach their full potential, regardless of their faith or origin.

At Francis of Assisi, we tackle issues in accordance with Catholic Social Doctrine. We are devoted to proactively recognizing needs and requesting help and support from our congregation. This includes needs in Upper Arlington (26% in Central Ohio), as well as those in the Diocese of Southern Ohio and beyond. CSS has been a source of hope for many people in need.

Through their services, they give individuals with the tools they need to reach their full potential. This includes providing access to education, healthcare, housing, and other essential services. At Saint Mark's, we are dedicated to helping those in need. We are committed to providing assistance through our outreach programs and services.

We also strive to educate our congregation on the importance of social justice and how they can make a difference in their community.
